Fall in Love – Old Sugar Mill Fall Wedding

It was an absolute joy to help C and B celebrate their fall wedding at the Old Sugar Mill with lush, muted fall toned florals.

C had a very clear vision of muted fall florals with pops of black, incorporated through the table settings and wedding party’s attire.

We love how it showed off those fall tones!

Fall Flower Faves

Undoubtedly, the historic charm of the Old Sugar Mill works well with any color palette, but it really shines with fall wedding colors.

The Ceremony

While C and B said their vows in the Gallery as the sun set, candles lined the aisles and a large deconstructed arch (also known as floral pillars) framing them. This wedding was a great illustration of how original plans can change and arrive at something better. Unfortunately, weeks before their big day, C and B’s original arch choice was no longer available. We rearranged a few things and were able to create a lush frame of flowers.

The Reception

Ultimately, we were all thrilled that we’d had to pivot. We were able to repurpose it to create a sweetheart table that has become one of our most popular looks!

With the deconstructed arches behind, beginning of aisle pieces in front and the addition of candles, a focal point for the entire reception was created. Compote style centerpieces anchored the guest tables, with open blooms added to the cake that we know tasted as good as it looked!

Continuing the crisp black and white accents with the muted fall theme, we developed a fall wedding flower palette of the season’s best blooms: roses, lisianthus, mums and more. The finished touch to all fall weddings are the added textures – broom corn, agonis, amaranthus, and astrantia added warmth and depth.

Thank to to this beautiful couple for trusting us to create their special day!
